Stormers Injury List Update

Springbok prop Wilco Louw suffered a hip flexor injury during the Stormers’ 26-26 draw with the Bulls in a pre-season match in Wellington a week ago. Fortunately, the injury is not as severe as initially suspected. Louw will be back in full training on Monday 12 Feb.

Other good news for the Stormers is that both Siya Kolisi and Pieter-Steph du Toit will be back in training on the same day, all of which helps as they prepare for their opening game against the Jaguares at Newlands.

The Stormers will still be without Eben Etzebeth (shoulder), Siyabonga Ntubeni (hamstring), Alistair Vermaak (hamstring), Jano Vermaak (knee), Jean-Luc du Plessis (groin), Daniel du Plessis (shoulder), Frans Malherbe (neck) and Juarno Augustus (back).

SP Marais will miss the Jaguares match, but there is a chance that he could be fit for the tour that follows the opening weekend, as the Stormers will face the Waratahs, Crusaders and the Highlanders on consecutive weekends in Australia and then New Zealand.
